Ripe wheat near the Wansdyke ,Tan Hill . View across the Kennett Vale .Monkton Down is on the horizon to the left ,above Silbury .Much of the downland was first ploughed in the 1850 after a few years the ground needed fertiliser .Landlords charged more rent if the land was roductive .
